This Actually Changes Your Skin
Brandi breaks down RF microneedling in plain language: what it is, why technique matters, how it may support collagen, and why it is best approached as a skin strategy instead of a one-time quick fix.

Hello, lovely. Let’s talk about RF microneedling in a way that actually makes sense.
RF microneedling is one of those treatments that can sound a little intimidating until someone explains what is really happening. I love it because it is not just about getting a quick glow before an event. It is about supporting the structure and quality of your skin over time, which is a very different conversation.
At Wake Up Beautiful here in Orange County, I want clients to understand why a treatment is being recommended, what it is designed to do, and how it fits into a bigger skin strategy. RF microneedling is one of my favorite examples of that because it can help support firmness, texture, and overall skin quality when it is done correctly and consistently.
RF Microneedling Is Not Basic Microneedling
Traditional microneedling works closer to the surface of the skin. RF microneedling adds radio frequency energy, which allows the treatment to work deeper. The tiny needles create controlled channels while the radio frequency energy delivers heat below the surface, where collagen remodeling can be encouraged.
That difference matters. We are not just trying to make the skin look temporarily refreshed. We are trying to encourage the skin to behave in a healthier, stronger way over time. Collagen is what helps skin look firm, smooth, and supported, and most of us want more of that as we age.
Think Of It Like Exercise For Your Skin
One of the easiest ways to understand RF microneedling is to think of it like exercise for your skin. You would not go to the gym one time and expect your body to completely transform. Skin works the same way. A thoughtful series can help build momentum, and maintenance treatments can help support those results over time.
That is why I do not love presenting this as a one-and-done quick fix. You may see improvement after one treatment, but the real beauty is in having a plan. For many people, RF microneedling becomes part of a skin maintenance rhythm, not something random they do once and forget about.
The Heat Question: Is It Melting Fat?
A lot of people have heard concerns about heat-based devices and facial volume, so I want to address that directly. When RF microneedling is performed correctly, with the right device, depth, settings, and provider judgment, the goal is to stimulate collagen and improve skin quality, not remove volume where you want to keep it.
This is why technique matters. At Wake Up Beautiful, the device, settings, depth, placement, and candidacy all matter. It should never be a casual, one-size-fits-all treatment. The goal is to tighten, smooth, and strengthen the skin in a way that makes sense for the person in front of us.
It Can Treat More Than The Face
Another reason I love this treatment is that it is not limited to the face. Here in Southern California, we wear sleeveless tops, tank tops, dresses, and lighter clothing much of the year, so skin quality on the neck, chest, arms, knees, and other areas can matter just as much as the face.
RF microneedling may help improve the look of crepey texture and laxity in appropriate candidates. That does not mean it is magic, and it does not mean every person needs the same plan, but it can be a powerful option when we are trying to improve skin quality in a more comprehensive way.
Why Combination Treatments Can Be So Beautiful
Sometimes the best result comes from treating more than one layer of the skin. RF microneedling works deeper, while fractional CO2 can work more on surface concerns like texture, tone, and sun damage. When the right candidate combines those tools thoughtfully, the result can look more complete because we are addressing both structure and surface.
Downtime, skin type, goals, and timing all matter, so this is where consultation becomes important. The right plan is not just about what treatment sounds exciting. It is about what your skin actually needs, what you can realistically tolerate, and what will help you move toward the result you want.
The Bottom Line
RF microneedling is one of my favorite skin-quality treatments because it can support real change over time. It is not about looking overdone. It is about healthier, smoother, firmer-looking skin and a plan that helps you feel confident in your own skin.
If you are here in Orange County, we would love to help you decide whether RF microneedling, CO2, or a combination approach makes sense for you. And if you are not local, my hope is that these videos help you feel more informed, more confident, and more prepared to ask the right questions wherever you go.
Individual results vary. A consultation is the best way to determine whether this treatment or a combination treatment is appropriate for your skin and goals.
